The McCook Public Library District is located at 8419 West 50th Street, McCook, Illinois. The library provides free services to all residents living within the boundaries of the Village of McCook with services available to all others for a fee.
The library holds over 24,200 materials including over 16,300 books, and 2,600 compact discs, cassette tapes and books on cassette. Over 3,900 DVDs/Videos are also available for check-out.
In total, over 34,000 items were checked out of the library during fiscal year 2006-2007! In addition to these items, hundreds of people entered the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access the Internet, view a library exhibit, or attend a library event.

The mission of the McCook Public Library District is to encourage the love of reading, to enhance leisure hours, to facilitate learning and to assist in satisfying the information needs of the people of the Village of McCook.
